Another Historic Church In Paris Burning, Here’s What Police Suspect This Time
(Tea Party 247) In the latest incident of international anti-Catholic violence, the historic Cathedral of St. Peter and St. Paul of Nantes in France was engulfed in flames early Saturday morning.
Police have now launched an arson probe, saying that multiple fires appear to have been set in the church.
This comes while the wounds of the disastrous Notre Dame Cathedral fire last year are still relatively fresh in the historically Catholic City of Lights.
The damage is concentrated on the organ, which seems to be completely destroyed. Its platform is very unstable and could collapse, regional fire chief General Laurent Ferlay told reporters after the fire was contained, according to The Gateway Pundit.
He explained that there were three fires started in the church.
And that it is being looked at as a criminal incident.

According to RT, an eyewitness who lives near the cathedral earlier told the LCI news outlet that he was woken up by a very strange sound of bells and he could see the fire from his home. From what I can see, there is more and more smoke, he said.
Thinking of our firefighters courageously mobilized to contain the fire in Nantes cathedral. I assure them of my support and my deep gratitude, French Prime Minister Jean Castex tweeted as firefighters attempted to put out the blaze.
The Nantes Cathedral was begun in 1434 and took 457 years to complete.
It was damaged in World War II and survived a fire previous fire in 1972.
