Former NYPD Commissioner Has Some Choice Words For AOC’s Dismissal Of Crime In New York…You’ve Got To See This

(Tea Party 247) – Last week, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) made one of her famously stupid comments that just so happened to be particularly infuriating considering it was in an effort to downplay violent crime in her city.

“So why is this uptick in crime happening?” Ocasio-Cortez lectured importantly to her teenybopper followers during a virtual town hall last week.

“Well, let’s think about it. Do we think this has to do with the fact there’s record unemployment in the United States right now? The fact that people are at a level of economic desperation that we have not seen since the Great Recession?

“Maybe this has to do with the fact that people aren’t paying their rent and are scared to pay their rent, and so they go out and they need to feed their child and they don’t have money, so you maybe have to, they’re put in a position where they feel like they either need to shoplift some bread or go hungry that night.”

Former New York Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik, in a recent appearance on Fox Business on Wednesday, absolutely slammed AOC for having “no conception” of reality.

“She’s an immature child,” Kerik said. “You know what? It’s stupid. It’s ignorant. She has no conception what she is talking about.”

“She has no conception of what the crime rates truly are or what they were in the past or where they came from, from 1994 to 2002,” he added of the time that former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani was in office.

In this period, Kerik explained, “dropped crime by 65 percent and homicide by 70 [percent].”

This year, homicide has increased by 130% under current Mayor Bill de Blasio’s not-so-watchful eye.

Kerick also slammed de Blasio, who that same day signed the NYPD Accountability Packag, which, according to New York City’s official website, will “protect the right of citizens to record police activity, require NYPD transparency on the use of surveillance technologies, establish an online NYPD disciplinary matrix, and ensure all NYPD officers have their shield number and rank designations visible at all times while on the job.”

So what does AOC think that police defunding will look like?

“When people ask me, ‘What does a world where we defund the police look like?’ I tell them it looks like a suburb,” Ocasio-Cortez said during her virtual town hall.
