Thousands Of Swedes Receive Positive COVID-19 Test Results, There’s Just One Little Problem…

(Tea Party 247) – The entire coronavirus pandemic saga has been plagued with misinformation and lies including inflated test result numbers and deaths wrongly being attributed to the virus. America’s economy has been shut down and the livelihood of millions of Americans ruined over COVID-19 statistics and data that aren’t even entirely accurate. In some cases, nowhere near accurate.

Now it looks like faulty BGI Genomics test kits out of China that have been widely distributed around the world are contributing to the chaos and confusion that is the coronavirus pandemic.

Around 3,700 Swedes received false-positive COVID-19 test results thanks to a faulty testing kit from China, according to Reuters who cited a statement made Tuesday by Sweden’s Public Health Agency. The statement said that the kit was unable to distinguish between a very low level of the virus and a negative result.

Here’s more from Reuters:

BGI Genomics, two of whose subsidiaries are on a U.S. economic blacklist of companies implicated in human rights violations regarding China’s treatment of Uighurs, could not immediately be reached for comment.

It received emergency use authorization from U.S. authorities for its coronavirus testing kits in March and got an Emergency Use Listing from the World Health Organization in May.

The Swedish labs that evaluate the tests have adjusted their methodology. The agency could not say how many tests had been done using the kit but only a minority of cases appeared to be involved, when the virus is at very low levels.

Sweden said the false results had only marginally affected statistics on infections.

On Tuesday, the agency reported that since the first case of COVID-19 was identified, there had been 86,891 confirmed infections in Sweden and 5,814 deaths.

Cases, intensive care admissions and deaths have been falling in recent weeks. The agency will present its strategy for easing some remaining restrictions on public events, such as football matches, next Tuesday.

Sweden has largely rejected massive scale lockdowns and despite having the ninth highest mortality rate in the world, overall the country seems to be doing just fine. The biggest issue for Sweden has been the fact that they could have taken more precautions to protect the elderly population, which is most at risk of complicated and fatal encounters with the virus.

Other than that, however, life seems to be going on just fine in Sweden, as it has in countries all over the world whenever any kind of virus has come, and eventually gone.

According to a report by Market Watch, Swedes have been developing herd immunity which, in the long run, will pay off:

Arne Elofsson, a professor in biometrics at Stockholm University, thinks the population has developed a form of immunity: “Strict rules do not work as people seem to break them. Sweden is doing fine.”

Anders Tegnell, an epidemiologist involved in managing Sweden’s pandemic response (the Financial Times called him its architect), thinks masks give a false sense of security: “The belief that masks can solve our problem is very dangerous.”

Prime Minister Stefan Löfven thinks voluntary social-distancing rules and not closing schools but banning gatherings of more than 50 people has been the right approach: “Now there are quite a few people who think we were right,” he told a newspaper. “The strategy that we adopted, I believe is right — to protect individuals, limit the spread of the infection.”

Data from the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control show Sweden has a fortnightly infection rate of 37 cases per 100,000 people. This is much lower than France, with 60 cases per 100,000 and Spain at 152.7 cases per 100,000.

Eventually the rate of transmission will greatly reduce in Sweden and the virus will be a non-issue. Unlike other parts of the world where people have essentially been trying to hide from the virus. We are only prolonging the pandemic and strengthening the virus while simultaneously weakening our immune systems.

But, hey, at least the media has something else to blame on President Trump!
