[VIDEO] DC Cops Save Rand Paul from ‘Crazed Mob’
(UnitedVoice.com) – Horrifying video shows Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) and his wife, Kelley, among a group of Republican National Convention (RNC) guests surrounded by an angry mob of anti-Trump protesters.
Journalists at the convention reported they could hear noise from dozens of protesters from the White House’s South Lawn, where President Trump gave his renomination acceptance speech.
Sen. Paul tweeted about incident writing, “Just got attacked by an angry mob… one block away from the White House.” Continuing, he thanked Washington, DC, police officers for “literally saving our lives from a crazed mob.”
Incident Captured on Video
Stunning footage from independent journalist Brendan Gutenschwager showed protesters surrounding the senator and his wife as they walked to the Hotel Washington after departing the RNC.
The video shows a protester rushing a police officer and pushing him and his bicycle backward into Rand Paul. The officer briefly stumbled, but quickly regained his footing with the assistance of the senator.

Police officers formed a protective shield around Paul and his wife as protesters shouted, “say her name,” followed by “Breonna Taylor.”
Taylor was a black medical worker killed by police on March 13, 2020, in Louisville, Kentucky, less than a two-hour drive from Sen. Paul’s home.
Fortunately, the senator and his wife didn’t appear to suffer any injury during the confrontation.
Sadly, this isn’t the first time someone attacked the senator. In 2017, Rene Boucher, his next-door neighbor, broke six of his ribs after the second-term senator stacked brush near his backyard. Court records show the two had a long-standing history of quarreling over landscaping issues.
Boucher pleaded guilty to one count of assault on a Congress member in March 2018 and received a 30-day prison sentence. Additionally, a Kentucky jury ordered him to pay more than $580,000 in damages to Sen. Paul.
Perhaps these incidents are a sign of the times, lending credence to President Trump’s zero-tolerance policy regarding rioting, looting, and civil unrest.
